Sometimes when God is going to bless you, He tests you first. God will give you something difficult to go through, something where you wonder what He's doing, and why He's allowing you to suffer. Remember, God makes no mistakes, but He does give you challenges to make you stronger. God gives us obstacles and hills to develop our "Faith Muscles". What are faith muscles? Faith muscles are what you use when you think you are lost, when you think you are exhausted, when you think the enemy has won. Faith muscles cause you to encourage yourself. In the book of 1 Samuel David had ran out of places to hide in Israel. Saul was chasing him and looking for him in caves, bushes, and the wilderness. There was no place left for him to hide. David's friends and neighbors were snitching on him, and telling Saul where to find him. David had about 400 men with him and in order to find rest he went to the land of the Philistines. Have you ever felt like there was no where to go, except in the midst of your enemies, because your own family and people were treating you so bad, you had to get away in order to get peace?
That's where David was. David eventually finds his place among the enemy, and David is given a city to dwell in for his family, his men, and their families. But when you are out of place, and with the wrong crowd, God will make things happen that cause you to move, and get back to what God's plan is for your life.

But when you are out of place, and with the wrong crowd, God will make things happen that cause you to move, and get back to what God's plan is for your life.
David is made the Philistine kings armor bearer, and he does what David did, and he did it well. David led the army and was successful in all of his battles. But as God would have it, The Philistines decided to attack Israel. David is ready to attack his own brethren. David and his men are willing to go to battle with the Philistines against his family and friends, But God.
The Philistine princes don't want David to fight with them, and they make him go home to the city the Philistine king gave him, Ziklag. When David gets to Ziklag, he is devastated. His family is gone, and the city is burned to the ground. God orchestrated it so David could not fight against his family, and the people he would be king over. God also orchestrated it so he could not stay where God had not ordained him to stay. But at the moment David did not know he would be king, David didn't know that his anointing would come to pass. All David knew was his family was gone, he had been rejected by his new friends, and Saul the King was trying to kill him. But David did what we all need to do. David encouraged himself. David flexed his "Faith Muscles". David went after the kidnappers and got his family back. The Bible says "David recovered all". The point of this Bible lesson is, no matter how bad your situation is, if you have Faith Muscles you can get strong in difficult situations. David did, and after his struggle, his pain, his loss, he got up and encouraged himself, and praised God. He goes on from there and becomes the second most favorite king in Bible history. Who is the first? King Jesus. Be blessed and be a blessing.
