2017 K.I.N.G. Summit “Count It All Joy”

We all joked about the stress “light afflictions” of having to take the test during the conference. When you attend a powerful and anointed meeting like this past weekend, it’s not unusual for the Enemy to start fighting back, with a test to make our life chaotic to tempt us to put on the old man. So let me paint the scene for you. Three black men traveling from Ohio back to Atlanta, pull into a truck stop in Kentucky to get gas. Two white men dressed in Harley gear with confederate flags displayed everywhere with their significant others are parked out front with their motorcycles. After refueling and taking a very quick bathroom break, we notice these guys are in distress and one of their bikes wouldn’t start. So how might we respond to this interesting narrative? Wait, I remember seeing this one on the test! Colossians 3:17 “And whatsoever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him”. Meaning we strive to represent Christ properly in everything we do. So we go over and help the guys out and after giving them a jump, the bike starts up. But the story doesn’t end here. There was a third white guy standing off in the distance observing the entire encounter. He walks over and starts explaining that he saw our K.I.N.G. shirts and “noticed that we were believers” (his words, not mine). He then started explaining how cool it was to watch us help the guys out. Then I was reminded of Rick Warren’s definition of Integrity- “Being the same person all the time, no matter where you are”. Be blessed brothers, and remember to represent Christ in everything we do. STRONG IN THE LORD!
